Before you start: Below instructions make 2 rolls of gimbap (1 serving). Please adjust accordingly.
Make 1 cup of rice per serving. How to make rice
When rice is done, transfer to a big bowl and add 1 tbsp of sesame oil and at least 1/2 tsp of salt. Mix well.
On a cutting board, lay out 1 sheet of seaweed, shiny side facing down.
Spread handful of rice from step 2 to cover the bottom 3/4 of the seaweed. Put bits of rice on the top 1/4.
Add toppings: a small handful of carrots, 2 chives, then 1 of every other topping.
Roll the gimbap closed, squeezing gently as you go to avoid ripping. Repeat for other gimbaps.
Get a sharp knife. Wet your knife and cut the gimbap into 1cm slices. Wet your knife again if cutting gets difficult.
Spread 1 tbsp of sesame oil on top of gimbap. Sprinkle salt to taste.
